T R A N S C R I P T . . .
Hello and welcome back to the sixty-ninth episode of this GTA III The Definitive Edition video game series. And today, we’re gonna continue doing a vehicle sub-mission. And for today, that will be driving a Fire Truck. Extinguishing twenty fires, because to complete Firefighter, you have to complete twenty, extinguish twenty fires per island. So, sixty in total. So, we’re at the local Fire Station of Staunton Island. Fire Department! So, we’ll toggle the mission, here we go. ‘Firefighter‘. Got a burning truck. Where to boss? Belleville Park. Well, we’re right here anyway so, it shouldn’t be far. I feel like It’s in your best interest to check your map during this, because sometimes your GPS router can take you on a wild excursion.
Let’s go that way. Nice and close, Aspatria area. We’ll be approaching night-time soon. It should add to the challenge. Awe, that timer’s tight already. Oh, right down there. We’re going across map. Oh, that’s not good. I wonder how much ah, bullets this Fire Truck can sustain before blowing up. Hopefully, we don’t have to find out. I’d imagine more than your usual Stinger, or Infernus, or Cheetah. Aye, ya, ya, ya. We just came from over there. Awe, go away god dammit. Yeah, look at the moon in the night sky almost their, It’s pretty nice. Please stay on this road, nice. Burning vehicle reported in the Rockford area. We on it! Love the way this Fire Truck slides like, if you time it right, it drifts so well with all that weight.
I gotta stop going through this section. Keep me on the outskirts baby. Extinguish that Manana. Okay, awe, go away. Please tell me It’s up here and not down below. There we go. Awe, not a good spot to be in, the Construction Site here. Awe, surely this is gonna blow up any second. The amount of bullets It’s bloody taking. Awe, we’re at the half way mark. But, I’m not liking this damage accumulation happening. I reckon we might be able to just stay on the outskirts for this, go right around. Yep, that worked. We got some time clocked up ah. Now It’s starting to rain, this thing is gonna slide like a mother trucker. Move out the way! Oh my god.
I’m a little extra frustrated through this recording, because I’d almost done it and my bloody dad came in and just wrecked it yahooing. Six to go! Good, the rain stopped. And it started raining again. Okay, let’s not go right around there. Let’s try and find a way down through here. I can’t see much here. It’s incredibly dark on this monitor. I know it doesn’t look like that in the recording. Two left! We’re on easy street now. Temper has flat lined, that’s good. Okay so, trying to work out why I can’t change the camera angle, It’s because I’m under the god damned bridge or whatever, the roof thing. And that’s it so, I’m gonna toggle off this mission. Over fifty-thousand GTA dollars earned. Time to head back to Staunton Island safehouse. I hope you enjoyed this episode and I’ll see you on the next.

Summary
In GTA 3: The Definitive Edition, taking on the Firefighter vehicle sub-mission offers a blast of action and rewards. Missions begin with a Fire Truck stationed conveniently at the Staunton Island Fire Department. Getting there is half the fun, but once you’re on site, it all kicks off by pressing R3 inside the Fire Truck.
As Claude Speed, your task is to extinguish vehicle fires by using the Fire Truck’s water hose. Simple as it sounds, there’s a knack to spraying effectively and tracking down blazing vehicles scattered across the island. It’s not just about patrolling aimlessly; keeping an eye on your mini-map for fire outbreaks is crucial.
Completing these fiery challenges isn’t just about freewheeling around town in a massive truck. Each blaze you quash inches you closer to earning a Flamethrower delivered to your hideouts, a boon for any would-be crime lord.
The Firefighter mission is more than just a side gig. They’re a way to get a feel for navigating Liberty City under pressure, all while bagging some neat loot. Jump in, start saving vehicles, and watch your arsenal and score grow.

Mastering the Firefighter Challenges
Once you’ve revved up that Fire Truck, mastering the Firefighter mission in Staunton Island is about more than just speed. Navigating through Liberty City’s crazy streets while keeping your big red truck intact can be tricky. Pay attention to traffic; you’ll want to avoid collisions as much as possible since a damaged truck spells mission failure. Timing and precision are your best friends here.
Planning your route is vital. Saving time by taking shortcuts can help you reach multiple fire sites swiftly. Don’t hesitate to use your siren to direct traffic, also your map actively to plot the best course, especially when the clock is ticking and the vehicles be a burning.
Conserving water is not a key factor here. It is limitless, but reckless spraying can leave you high and dry when you need it most. Use sharp bursts of the hose to control the fires more efficiently instead of holding the jet continuously.
Think about fire zones too. The intensity and number of vehicles on fire might increase, challenging your skills further. Stay calm, handle each scenario with a clear mind, and focus on clearing one incident before rushing to the next. Better control often means fewer mistakes.
Remember, part of the challenge is maintaining your cool under pressure. Master these elements, and you’ll not only complete the mission but also improve your overall gameplay, potentially opening up more opportunities as you progress.
Rewards and Benefits of Completing the Firefighter Mission
Conquering the Firefighter mission doesn’t just give you bragging rights in GTA 3: The Definitive Edition; it also rewards you with the coveted Flamethrower. This powerful weapon adds a fiery edge to your arsenal, aiding you in taking on tougher adversaries across Liberty City.
Once you successfully extinguish the required 20 vehicle fires on each island, the Flamethrower gets delivered to every safehouse you own. Knowing exactly where to retrieve this game-changer is crucial, so remember to check your hideouts regularly after completing the mission.
Having a Flamethrower not only provides significant offensive leverage but also makes subsequent gameplay more manageable, offering creative ways to tackle enemy hordes and difficult missions. The earlier you secure this weapon, the more strategic flexibility you gain in early stages.
Taking on the Firefighter challenges across each island not only diversifies your gaming experience but also arms you with the tools needed for higher-paced and more complex tasks. Diving into the depths of Liberty City with this added gear provides both a tactical and psychological edge.
Understanding these benefits helps emphasise the value of the Firefighter, going beyond just another task on your checklist, enhancing both your immediate and long-term gameplay in Liberty City.

This GTA equivalent of a movie was such a blast to the past! The Firefighter sub-mission of dousing 20 cars on Staunton Island looked incredible in 4K detail, and the heat of the moment really came through with the upgraded visuals. I loved seeing how you handled the fire truck amidst all the chaos—keeping the car fires under control while dealing with all those pesky citizens. The Definitive Edition really makes the gameplay feel fresh and revamped, even for classic missions such as this. Can’t wait for Shoreside Vale’s Firefighter playthrough—looking forward to it now!
