T R A N S C R I P T . . .
Hello and welcome back to the ninety-sixth episode of this GTA III The Definitive Edition video game series. Today, weβre gonna drive this Colombian Cartel Cruiser over to D-Ice. This is the last Payphone mission with him so, letβs hope it goes out with a bang. This is βRumbleβ. Aight, whereβs your baby brother at?
Jump in son. Hell yeah, thatβs what Iβm talking about. Beat on the brat with a baseball bat. Ah, cannot really see. Looks like weβre getting close to this slug fest. Time to get our melee on. Alright, letβs get into it. Swing guy. What are you doing just standing there? Donβt come into range, oh. Felt that one, almost knocked me out guy.
Cβmon, whyβs he not helping, D-Iceβs little brother. Well, if I had no Body Armour Iβd just be about dead, I would have died. Thank god I had some. Come here then, now for the haymaker. Oh my, I accidentally murdered D-Iceβs younger brother. Awe, this guyβs got like Body Armour or something. There we go. Letβs get out of here.
Fortunately, thatβs the last D-Ice mission. So, I donβt have to deal with him about murdering his younger brother. He was a casualty of that battle fest. He only swung the bat like once. Damn, I almost got taken out. That was a lot of fun though. I hope you enjoyed this episode and Iβll see you on the next!

Summary
Grand Theft Auto 3 marked a pivotal moment in the gaming world, redefining what players could expect from an open-world experience. Released back in 2001, this game introduced gamers to the sprawling urban landscape of Liberty City. You roamed the streets, taking on missions and challenges in an exacerbated lifelike setting that felt alive and unpredictable.
Now, with GTA 3: The Definitive Edition, this classic has undergone a serious makeover. Enhanced graphics, improved controls, and more bring the old favourite into the modern era. Itβs all about giving gamers today the chance to step back in time and experience a game that set the standard for the open-world genre. Plus, with those enhancements, it feels just as fresh and exciting as it did two decades ago.
In Liberty City, new missions await, pushing the storylines further with intriguing tasks you wouldnβt have imagined back in the original. Itβs the same city many of us grew up with, but thereβs a lot more hidden beneath the surface with this new edition. And that, my dear gamers, is where the nostalgia blends beautifully with innovation, giving both old fans and new players plenty to explore.
Rumble β D-ICE
The Rumble Mission: A Test of Honour in the Shadows
D-Ice and his crew, the Southside Hoods Red Jacks, are heavy hitters in the violent world of Liberty City. Working as a contact for some of the gameβs most thrilling missions, D-Ice demands respectβand this mission βRumbleβ is no exception.
In this mission, youβre stepping up as Claude Speed, meeting at D-Iceβs phone booth in Wichita Gardens. D-Ice lays out the situation: a turf war with the Purple Nines is about to erupt, and things are about to get heated. Your mission is to grab D-Iceβs younger sibling whoβll lead you straight to the brewing battle in Shoreside Valeβs Picnic Area.
Hereβs the kickerβitβs not just about fighting; itβs about fighting with a sense of honour. The mission insists on keeping it clean and melee-based. The trusty baseball bat is your weapon of choice, forcing you to engage the enemy up close and personal. This requirement turns up the tension, making strategy crucial as you crack skulls and aim for victory without resorting to gunplay.
Picking up D-Iceβs younger sibling from Wichita Gardens Safehouse carpark isnβt just a tactical move; itβs a brilliant nod to gang politics and the importance of alliances. This escort-style portion of the mission emphasises protection and coordination. Only by working together can you locate the destination and unleash your bat-wielding justice.
What stands out about this mission isnβt just the actionβitβs the story layers. With all the unfolding gang dynamics and the commitment to Honorable combat, βRumbleβ digs deeper into the complexities of Liberty City. This narrative richness sets the mission apart, making it a memorable standout in the Definitive Edition.
Strategies, Rewards, and Legacy
Tackling the Rumble mission in GTA 3: The Definitive Edition isnβt something to take lightly. Heading into melee combat requires finesse, timing, and a solid strategy to come out on top. The key here is to stay aware of your surroundings, especially when outnumbered by the Purple Nines. Using the baseball bat effectively means picking your moments carefully and going for that satisfying swing when the time is right. Itβs all about controlling the chaotic environment to your advantage.
In this mission, cash is king. Thereβs a sweet reward of $10,000 GTA waiting for you once you complete the task. Itβs not just about the money, though. That payout is a nod to the risk involved and the skill required to achieve victory without even firing a single shot. This reward structure also signals the missionβs place in helping players advance, adding that extra motivation to aim high and play smart.
Reflecting on the missionβs impact, itβs clear that βRumbleβ has left a lasting impression in the GTA community. Its focus on melee adds a unique twist to the game experience, reminding players of the virtues of skill under pressure. The mission ties into broader themes of honour and street rep, fundamental to the gameβs gritty narrative. These missions donβt just challenge your in-game abilities; they challenge your understanding of what it means to hustle and fight fair in Liberty City.
The Rumble mission encapsulates the heart of the GTA series. Itβs daring, atmospheric, and packed with action, giving players that addictive thrill that only Liberty City can deliver. As part of the Definitive Edition, this mission continues to impress, a testament to the enduring appeal of Grand Theft Auto and its ability to captivate generation after generation.

-Another comment for another $10K earned for another mission passed. Nice work.Β
These are usually the only comments I can make right now where I watch the video and it just shows the gameplay, to which I respond afterwards.Β
I like the fact that there were no guns involved in this one; too bad that ally of yours didnβt really help.Β
Again, nice work; always a pleasure.
