T R A N S C R I P T . . .
Hello and welcome back to the one-hundred and twenty ninth episode of this GTA III The Definitive Edition video game series. Weβll just stockpile some ammunition and weβre good to go. Today, weβre searching for our third emergency vehicle for our Import/Export Exchange List at Portland Harbor. More specifically, we need to deliver it to the Portland Crane.
And right now, weβre gonna head to Liberty City Police Department in Portland. To grab a βPoliceβ car. We could probably take this guyβs car but, weβll just see how we go at the Police Station. Itβs right next to Sweeney General Hospital. Oh crap, that was a Police officer. I thought it was a Triad. Oh, we got three stars.
It could be a good way of accumulating stars for the next episode. Theyβre not happy. I just took out one of their fellow officers. Alright, Iβm gonna have to out smart these cops. So, here we are at Portland Harbor and weβre gonna deliver this Police cruiser at the Portland Crane just here before we get arrested. Alright, there we go.
Hopefully that helicopterβs blades doesnβt chop that line. I wouldnβt recommend getting stars if you can help it. So, theirβs our fifteen hundred GTA dollars. Letβs randomly select a vehicle here. Letβs see if we can get it back in one piece. Okay, we selected the Pony. Whoa. Here we are back at Portland Hideout. Letβs get rid of these stars real quick. I hope you enjoyed this episode and Iβll see you on the next!

This optional task adds a whole new layer to the gameplay, allowing players to step out of the main storyline and engage in a unique challenge that tests both strategy and stealth. The missionβs core revolves around acquiring a police emergency vehicle and delivering it to the docks at Portland Harbor. Sounds simple, right? But, the nuances involved make it a thrilling endeavour.
In this timeless mission, youβre tasked with luring out a Police Emergency Vehicle. This can be done by creating a bit of mischief to attract the police in Liberty City. Strategically Hijacking Police Vehicles: Tips and Tricks
Taking on the challenge of hijacking police vehicles in GTA 3βs: Definitive Release requires a mix of cunning and careful planning. At the core of this mission is the art of luring out police cars without generating a sky-high wanted level. A well-thought-out approach can mean the difference between a clean getaway and being overwhelmed by law enforcement.
Start by picking your location. Liberty City is bustling, with police cruisers patrolling its streets almost relentlessly. Choosing high-traffic areas or known police hangouts can increase your chances of spotting a vehicle quickly. Portland View and Torrington are hot spots where police presence is usually significant and closest to Portland Harbor, making them perfect targets for a swift hijack.
Now, about stirring up just enough mischief. A single star wanted level or two, might just do the trick. This can be achieved with minor infractions like clipping a pedestrian or lightly peppering another car. The goal here is to draw in a police unit without setting off a massive alarm.
Once a police vehicle is in range, timing becomes essential. Patience pays off when youβre waiting for the right moment to make your move. If Claude Speed enters from the passenger side door, he should be safe to make a swift getaway. If not, as the police officer steps out, thatβs your cue. Speed is of the essence here, as hesitation could lead to an unavoidable escalation in your wanted level and shots fired.
Managing those wanted stars is crucial during this mission. Should things get too dicey, ducking into your hideout to collect police bribes, saving the game there, and/or hitting the Pay βnβ Spray shops might just save Claudeβs skin. Itβs about knowing when to push forward with your objective and when to pause and regroup.
With your newly acquired vehicle, the final hurdle is reaching the Portland Harbor without turning the whole city against you. The Emergency Vehicle Exchange Crane awaits, and with it, the sense of achievement that comes from successfully completing this invigorating pursuit.
Rewards and Incentives: Completing the Mission Successfully
Completing the βPolice β Emergency Vehicle Exchangeβ mission comes with its fair share of rewards, both tangible and intangible. Every successful delivery to the Portland Harborβs Emergency Vehicle Exchange Crane nets you a cool $1,500 GTA. But thatβs just the start. For those driven by completion, delivering all seven types of emergency vehicles promises a hefty bonus: a whopping $200,000 GTA.
The financial incentives are hard to pass up, but the strategic benefits are just as appealing. Once all emergency vehicle types are locked in under the crane, youβll unlock free access to any of these vehicles. This can significantly change how you navigate through Liberty City, giving you a tactical edge while exploring or engaging in future missions.
These side-missions play a critical role for players aiming for 100% game completion. They not only contribute to the percentage but also add layers to the gameplay, encouraging you to step out of the routine and take calculated risks. With each completed mission, thereβs a greater sense of progress and accomplishment, essential motivators for continuing the game.
Beyond the monetary gain and strategic advantages, enduring the challenges this mission presents can refine your gameplay skills. Whether itβs mastering stealth, enhancing your getaway tactics, or perfecting vehicle control, each step brings both challenges and opportunities to excel.
For those who thrive on the thrill of achievement and the satisfaction of a job well done, this side-mission delivers on all fronts. It demands cunning, rewards commitment, and keeps you engaged with its mix of strategy and action. Just witness the video here to see for yourself. So, gear up, and make the most of this exhilarating opportunity to leave your mark on Liberty City.

This looks like quite a tricky game and it would be interesting to know statistically how many people actually make it to the end. Hijacking a vehicle is difficult, and I am sure even more difficult in the gaming world. The graphics however are amazing, and I am in awe at how far gaming has come since I was a child playing games like Jet Set Willy and Pac Man.
